POST     COMMENTARY

It is said that time is money, but for Muslims, time is life. A Muslim’s time is very organised. The organiser of their time is the timing of their prayers. A Muslim’s day starts at day break with the dawn prayer. When the sun is at its highest, comes the noon prayer. When the afternoon comes, the Asr prayer is due. At sunset, the Maghrib prayer is to be performed. When the night completely falls, the Eisha prayer comes for Muslims to perform it. A Muslim should sleep early to prepare for the next dawn prayer.. Thus, a Muslim is an active early bird and a busy bee. This routine benefits a Muslim Physically, mentally and spiritually. After organising their day, Islam organises the Muslims’ months and even their year’s calendar. The Muslim calendar is a lunar one. The beginnings and ends of the lunar months depend on the movement of the moon. Tle lunar months never exceed thirty days. Also, this means that the lunar year is about eleven days shorter than the solar year. This means that the lunar months can occur in the different seasons of the year. For example, Muslims can and do fast the month of Ramadan all the year round.
