POST     COMMENTARY

Islam is the religion of ease  and mercy. The whole earth  and ‘the sea’ is a Muslim’s mosque.  This means that a Muslim can pray everywhere which is pure. Allah has  in brief commanded Muslims to pray. The way Muslims are asked to pray has been left for the prophet and his Sunna to show and explain. So the prophet once said, ‘Pray the way you have seen me do.’ That is why Muslims have to follow the prophet’s Sunnah, as much as they can to perform their prayers. We should bear in mind that the prophet was sent as a teacher, and most importantly as a facilitator. Prayer and the dhikr accompanying it  starts with  the call to prayer. Then, there is dhikr between the call, adhan, and the Iqama. There is also dhikr before entering  practically into the prayer. Prayer in itself is a kind of dhikr. However there is dhikr  all along prayer and its movements and actions. Tashahhud is  a kind of dhikr. After Tasleem and concluding the prayer, there is a kind of dhikr. A Muslim says Subhana Allah thirty- three times. They say Alhamdu Lillah thirty- three times and Allah Akbar thirty three times.
