In Islam there not a big difference between ‘Ebadat, ways of worship on the one hand, and etiquette and Islamic manners on the other. There is a saying that states, ‘Your religion, piety is the way you treat other people’. This necessarily means that ways of worship must affect a Muslim’s conduct. Likewise A Muslim’s conduct must be positively affected by their ways of worship. The ultimate end of worship is to keep a Muslim in the company of their Lord, and at the same time to make a Muslim a better human both morally and physically. Islam has brought religion into the streets, ie ways of worship are not shere and void rites. Rather, they are a comprehensive way of life and a thorough lifestyle. Let a given way of worship be prayer, fasting, zakat or pilgrimage, the most important point is the effect this way of worship has on a Muslim. So it is said that, ‘This whose prayer doesn’t stop them from doing bad things, has no prayer.’ Also , Allah says in the Holy Quran, ‘ Verily, a good word is better than a Sadaqa followed by hurting people’s feelings.’ Allah is all Rich and all Needless, so He doesn’t benefit from our worship. Rather it is we who do.
