POST     COMMENTARY

Allah is the Master and the Lord of the universe. We , humans, are His slaves. The prophets and messengers were the  link between Him and humans. Allah is everlasting and so is His religion. So, the link, the tie and the relationship must be everlasting. This tie is nothing but Prayer. Prayer for Muslims is the core and marrow of worship. Yet, it has its specifications and discipline. There is no prayer without purification. There are two ways of purification. Ablution is the purification using water. Tayammum is dry  purification without water. For prayer, there is a call summoning Muslims to go to the mosque. Also, each prayer has its timing. These  prayers organise and regulate a Muslim’s daily routine. A Muslim’s day stars very early, at dawn. So, the dawn prayer is set at that time.In the middle of a long day’s work, a Muslim is in a very bad need for a physical and a spiritual break. So , the noon prayer provides such an urgent break. In the afternoon, a Muslim needs a time to reflct upon the procession of time and the development of the day. So, the Asr prayer is set at that time. Now that the sun is setting down, a Muslim beholds the change occurring in the universe and witnesses a miracle of the Creator. So the Maghrib prayer is due. Then, the early bird and the busy bee, namely the Muslim who got up at dawn, needs to go to bed early to catch up with the break of the following day. So, before a good night’s sleep, a Muslim needs a final prayer, before surrendering the soul to  its Creator. So, the Eisha prayer is set for that purpose.
