The first pillar of Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Mohammad is His prophet. Suppose that Islam is a grand palace , the testimony is the gate to such a palace. This means that the testimony is necessary for everyone to be a Muslim. Islam revolves around this undeniable simple fact, Allah can’t be but one.

Look at yourself, you find out that you have got one heart; you have got one brain. Imagine the opposite, what would happen if you had two hearts or two brains? Similarly, look at the universe around you, You find out that the solar system has one sun. A ship has one captain to run in harmony, Even the tip of a pen has one ball to write correctly.

What if the whole universe had two or more gods, as the Quran logically and simply puts it ‘Then each god had his share, and then the whole universe would go corrupt’ .None should be rightly worshipped except Allah. It is a great merit and ease for man to believe that the universe has one creator who controls and runs it. The second part of the testimony is that Mohammad is his prophet. So why is it strange for Mohammad to be a prophet? Prophets can’t help being prophets.
Allah is He Who chooses and selects messengers from amongst the angels and people prophets and messengers. Since when was being a prophet a remarkable job? Throughout history prophets had been suffering a lot. It is a nerve consuming job. It’s never a privilege to be a prophet. There is no pride about it at all .Mohammad did his job and conveyed his mission enduring all kinds of hardships. So it is true that there is no god but Allah and Mohammad is His prophet.
