Q1. How do E-Aalim Online courses work?
A. E-Aalim.com is one of the leading institute for teaching Classical Arabic and Tajweed over the internet worldwide and provides courses for 32 countries around the world. All classes are taught using the latest conference technology of sound and a graphic. Students are able to chat to their teacher, chat with their classmates and actively participate in class using a set of interactive tools such as raising their hand, asking a question, or practicing their Arabic on the whiteboard with the teacher. All lessons are displayed in PowerPoint presentations and are recorded and kept on our server. Students can access the recordings directly from their accounts and review past materials from any computer. This allows them to go over difficult subjects or make up a lesson in case they missed a class.
Q2. What software do I need to participate in E-Aalim’s online courses?
A. As soon as a trial lesson is arranged, you will be commanded to download the virtual classroom environment (VLE) software which takes no more than 5 minutes. When you have installed the software you will be able to attend class. You will only need to install the software once on your computer.
Q3. What if I have technical problems?
A. If for whatever reason you are having difficulty in installing the Virtual Classroom Environment (VLE), then contact us immediately for technical Support either through email support@eaalim.com or call +44 (0) 870 446 0212
Q4. How do I know what level of Arabic / Tajweed is best for me?
A. Our Online Arabic Co-ordinator will be happy to assist you in determining which course is appropriate for you. We have an online student test to find out which level is suitable for you. The student test can also be arranged in the trial lesson.
Q5. Is there online interaction between student and teacher?
A. Students are able to chat to their teacher, chat with their classmates and actively participate in class using a set of interactive tools such as raising their hand, asking a question, or practicing their Arabic on the whiteboard with the teacher.
Q6. Do I have to be Muslim to enrol in E-Aalim online courses?
A. We welcome students of all faiths to study the Arabic language, although we specialise our courses for Muslims in general.
Q7. Why use the E-Aalim’s curriculum?
A. The E-Aalim’s curriculum is designed by professionals in the field of "Teaching Tajweed and Arabic as a Foreign Language". A team of teachers monitor the program, update and enhance it on a regular basis. It has an interactive Arabic language curriculum that is based on advanced technical features which puts students and teachers on the right track to effective learning (maximum learning at the shortest period of time). It ensures uniformity and reliability amongst students at different classrooms. E-Aalim’s program has a track record of success with individuals from home, schools, universities and institutions.
Q8. How much time do online courses take?
A. We have designed the online courses so that they cover about the same curriculum as their campus-based counterparts. However, students often find that they invest more time in online courses because class discussions are less time-bound and often branch off into multiple threads
Q9. Do online courses require me to travel?
A. Our courses do not require any travel. Some courses may ask that you commit to one or several "live" class meetings from your home or office (wherever you can attend via computer), which requires scheduling, but not travel.
Q10. Are E-Aalim online courses for me?
A. Although we cannot answer this question for you, you may want to consider the ways online courses are similar to and different from traditional courses. Some students find the convenience of online study far outweighs the adjustment to a new learning environment. Other students find that they need the classroom environment to succeed in their studies. With that in mind, we hope you find this comparison of online and traditional coursework helpful.
Online courses at E-Aalim are similar to traditional courses in many ways:
You will join a class of usually no more than 10-15 students, studying with a qualified and experienced teacher.
The schedule will be similar to that of a classroom-based course, with you and your fellow participants studying the same material.
As in classroom-based courses, you will interact with fellow students individually and through class discussion.
As with E-Aalim classroom-based courses, your instructor will be available "after class" to answer your questions and address your concerns.
Depending on the course, you can expect short weekly writing assignments and/or longer papers.
Depending on the course, your grade will be determined by class participation, written work and/or exams.
Having successfully completed an E-Aalim online course, you will receive a Certificate of competition.
Online courses at E-Aalim differ significantly from traditional courses as well:
You do not need to travel any farther than your computer to go to class.
You may show up when it is convenient for you, wearing whatever is comfortable for you.
Many classroom discussions happen asynchronously, so that you may take time to think about what your fellow classmates have said.
Much of your classroom reading and lecture time will be spent in front of your computer.
.Q11. When do I pay my tuition?
A. Tuition is due 7 days before class starts each semester. You must include your registration fee with your registration form each semester.
Q12. How do I pay my tuition and fees?
A. E-Aalim accepts Visa and most cards. You may also pay by wire transfer and Paypal. Please contact the Student Financial Services Office for wire transfer instructions on support@e-aalim.com.
Q13. Can I pay over the phone?
A. Yes, if you wish to pay by phone, please call +44 (0) 870 446 0212.
